Rogue: XS Old Crustacean Barleywine

wtf is this? so fucking bitter, so hoppy. so weird. totally not feeling this one… well, im feeling it the 750ml @ 11.5% ABV.

it is intense.. but im not feeling any balance from the bitterness. it did start to grow on me, but it could be just cuz i was hell of loaded.  OH WELL /drunk

Pelican Brewery: Mother of All Storms

the wife does not like this beer one bit.  its really complex, thats for sure, and very dessert-like.  but i personally think it has some serious savory notes (first thought i had was “hmmm cheese?!”)  But it is mosdef a dessert style beer, more sweet and chocolaty than not, but im having it for my starting course.

this beer is a liquid form of travis bickle… maybe not, but thats exactly the quote that came to my mind the second i tasted this.   a strong punch and a strong ale; malted and seasoned, with a long lasting after taste of hops. im not really a barelywine expert, but im loving the big carbonation and big alcohol content
