Pelican Pub & Brewery: India Pelican Ale
I reviewed this about a year ago, and this is just a revisiting.
im finding it a bit more cardboard-esque and less citrusy as i previously described.
I DUNNO FUCKIGN WHY. this bottle might be old? oxidizing a bit? let me look at the date…. OH WAIT THERE IS NO BOTTLED DATE.
i know its a fuckign pain in the ass to do, small breweries, but do it anyway. PLEAES
tasting notes: NO NOTES TODAY.
Pelican Pub & Brewery: 2011 Stormwatcher’s Winterfest
playing around with my new toy lens
this is exactly a lighter version of this (EXACTLY)
tasting notes: HURRRnnnnngghhhnnuhhhnrnnng
another great one from pelican. i think they’re one of the best things coming out of oh-re-gone these days. its a bit more mild then i like scotch ales, but is still very good. lots of distinct and interesting flavors whirling around like some sort of mel gibson movie before he went full racist.
tasting notes: dry cheese, dark sea foam, cork, linen
the wife does not like this beer one bit. its really complex, thats for sure, and very dessert-like. but i personally think it has some serious savory notes (first thought i had was “hmmm cheese?!”) But it is mosdef a dessert style beer, more sweet and chocolaty than not, but im having it for my starting course.
Tasting Notes: Port Salut, Cranberry, Sunsets, Sunn Amps
i swear to god, the only reason alot of smaller brewers make IPAs is to come up with LAME ASS hop/beer/etc puns. i go har har then i make a farting sound with my mouth. This is a fine beer, whatever. drink it, find it, its very west coast.
Tasting Notes: Citrus Zest, Treasure Chests, and Sloth Loves Chunk
